Your Guide to Luma³

Welcome. You might have seen a small, gently glowing device called Luma³ in a waiting area or been offered one by our clinical team.  This simple tool is here to help support you during your time with us.

What is Luma³ and what does it do?

Luma³ is a simple device that uses patterns of light to guide you through a calming breathing exercise. It’s designed to be easy to use, distraction-free, and requires no complex interaction. You can simply watch the light and breathe along with its gentle rhythm to feel the benefits.

How can it help me?

We understand that hospital treatments, such as dressing changes, can be a source of anxiety, stress, or pain.  Luma³ is here to provide support in those moments. Following the guided breathing exercises can help to:

  • Ease feelings of anxiety while you wait.
  • Manage discomfort or distress during a procedure.
  • Provide immediate support if you feel overwhelmed or experience a panic attack.
  • This tool is part of our commitment to supporting your overall wellbeing. It is a proven technique to help you feel calmer and more in control, empowering you with a skill that you can use both here at the clinic and at home.

Important Information: Luma³ is intended to support your emotional wellbeing. It is not a medical device and should not be used as a substitute for any medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment provided by the burns clinic staff. Its purpose is simply to help you feel calmer and more comfortable. Please continue to follow all instructions from your care team.
